One thing’s for sure, there’ll plenty of laughs and competitive fun!
What is paintballing?
The best way to describe paintballing is to think of it like an advanced game of dodge ball! The aim of the game is for two opposing sides to try and shoot each other with gelatin paint pellets without coming into contact one another.
The majority of paintballing games centre around two teams. Armed with a semi-automative paintball machine gun, each player must work alongside their team members in a tactical battle to defeat the enemy!
But don’t worry, it’s not as scary as it sounds, you’ll be given protective body combat suits to wear which are designed to absorb most of the impact! It’s always best to wear long sleeved clothes and plenty of padding and remember don’t take it too seriously – it should be fun!
What type of environment will I play in?
There are a whole host of paintballing centres across the UK, and the majority of them are set outside in covered woodland areas! Many of the paintballing sites feature different game zones, obstacles and challenges, which add yet another exciting dimension to the game. It really will feel like you are taking part in a real life action movie!
Some paintballing centres even boast movie-inspired sets and realistic battlefields that allow you to really get into character!
More about the game
Although the sole purpose of the majority of paintballing games is to simply defeat the opposition, some games might also require you to defend a building, capture a flag, assassinate or seize a person of place!
Teamwork and communication are essential
Paintballing is a great team building activity and is perfect for bonding with friends, family and even work colleagues.
Requiring excellent communication skills, it’s a great way of learning how to successfully work as a team as you try to defeat the enemy!
Safety is a paramount
There is a common misconception that paintballing hurts and can leave players with severe bruising but this is not the case, providing you don’t ignore the safety advice you will be given before stepping out into the playing field.
Although you can expect some element of discomfort, or slight stinging which quickly fades, paintballing is in fact relatively safe.
On arrival, you will be provided with a body combat suit, gloves and goggles, which you must wear at all times. A full safety briefing will also be provided, to ensure that you and your party have a fun and safe paintballing experience.
